I remember playing this game back when it came out, and for awhile SA3 on Ryu was actually thought of as terrible because of how little EX meter it gave you, and as you said Ryu has great EX moves in this game.

The new gief buffs are great like he’s much better now. Only thing I don’t like though is that his kit still has lots of tools that don’t work how they should. Lariat still isn’t really that useful against fireballs which I’m fine with bc of drive parry but what I’m not cool with is Lariat not hitting cross ups. Like even now w the super plus forward HP, lariat giving you an easy jump out of the corner after Gief walked them down is ridiculous. It’s wild they didn’t give him that instead of the other buffs and even with the new buffs it wouldn’t make him drastically better than he was. Yeah now his normals are super super strong but all his bad match ups from before have really not changed.

The first BlazBlue has a command that's extremely easy on arcade stick, but pretty hard on a gamepad. Tager's astral finish command is to hold down A+B+C and simultaneously mash D. On a PS3 controller that means holding square+triangle+circle and mashing X. The solution is to macro A+B+C to a shoulder button, but without that you have to use either claw-grip or your right palm, and then move your left hand over to mash X.

I think the common consensus in 3rd Strike regarding the best character is that Yun beats Chun in the head to head match up. But Chun, as you said, has more favorable matchups across the cast. Plus she is far more accessible than Yun, who requires more effort to maximize his potential.
